Are You A Good Person?
Most of us think we are. The question that arises is “Compared to What?” Comparing ourselves to other people we may believe we are pretty good. God, however, calls good works that we perform in our own power “filthy rags” Isaiah 64:6. None of us does good apart from the influence of the Holy Spirit. Romans 3:12 says “They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
Have you ever told a lie (even a little one), stolen something (size is irrelevant), lusted after another (God calls it adultery), felt hatred towards someone God calls it murder) We all fall miserably short of God’s Holy Standard. That’s why the Bible States For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23)
What is result of our sin?
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) The result of our sin according to Revelation 20:14 is death. “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” That leaves us without hope. We will spend eternity in the lake of fire. Does that concern you? God created man to be eternal. You will spend eternity somewhere. What we need to focus on is “Location, Location, Location”
There is Hope because Jesus Paid for our Sin, with his Life:
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) Now that’s Love. WOW! Jesus who unlike us never committed one sin, was sentenced to death for a crime he never committed. He died in your place (mine too).
Christ Arose from the grave the Third Day:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (1 Peter 1:3)
Salvation is a Gift -
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-
Summary:
Jesus was born of a virgin: Lived a sinless life: Was hung on the cross, dying for your sin: (Mine Too). Rose from the dead: which qualified him to redeem us.
The Big Question Is?
Will you accept him as Lord and Savior Today, by placing your Trust in Him? No amount of works will save you. It’s a Gift. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-
I’ve given you the Truth. Please give Serious Consideration:
Think it over and Ask God to reveal Himself to you. He will not cast you out. John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
What Do I Do Now?
Repent of Sin and Pray from your heart asking Jesus to save you. He certainly will. Words are not important. Sincerity Is. Find a good church, become involved and tell everyone you meet the “GOOD NEWS”
